Trip to Fairbanks, Montana to Bellingham, WA

Day 3 found us in Montana and heading toward Washington.  Actually I would have to look at the receipts to see where we started our morning.  It was over a month ago, and it has been a busy month.  Anyway we had to get to Bellingham, WA.  That is where Briana, my niece, Colleen's daughter lives.
Our trip took us into Idaho.

Somewhere out here in eastern Washington is a town called George.  I find that humorous.  I wanted to live at 1st President Ave. George, Washington.   Maybe on another adventure.

That is the Columbia Rive behind me.

This is outside of Bellingham, and my niece's place.  It was beautiful.

Unfortunately much of the time in Seattle was in traffic.  It was not worth taking pictures.  I got the car to the port for shipping.   The next day it was to the airport.   Fairbanks here I come.

Trip to Fairbanks, SD, Wyoming, Yellowstone, Montana

So day 2 we finished up the drive across South Dakota, and entered Wyoming.

Not sure if I mentioned it, but my sister, Colleen, agreed to help me drive across the country.
IF you look close you will see that we are being watched, as we take pictures.  Go to the 3rd fence post, and then go up and to the right.  The antelope were watching us.

I know a lot of people don't like Wyoming.  I am not sure why?

We found snow early.  Maybe that is why they don't like Wyoming?

It wasn't a whole lot of snow.  It was a bit windy too.
I am not sure exactly where we are in Wyoming when this picture was taken.  Neither of us had been to Yellowstone.  So we decided to take a side trip.

I am pretty sure the next photographs are from inside Yellowstone NP.

The next picture is where communication comes in handy.  I am driving, and we come around a curve.  There is a car parked on the side of the road, with its break lights on.  My sister starts going, "ooh, ooh, ooh"  I am thinking the car is starting to pull out, or she is seeing trouble.  Finally she spits out, "There" and points.    I pull over to get a picture and we, confer the correct word was "Buffalo", or "Bison", but now I know "ooh, ooh, ooh" may mean the same thing.  :)

There were a lot of dead trees around.  At least they looked dead.

Like a lot.

I have heard all about these "thermals" and geysers around Yellowstone.  Where are they?  Oh, never mind.

This kind of looks like it could be a cave with a dragon in it!

I guess someone else thought so too!

Another buffalo, bison,  ooh, ooh, ooh!

I am rather sure that was the end of inside Yellowstone.  We left via the West entrance.  Overall, it was amazing.  We did not see the huge herds of buffalo and elk, but we did see a few of each.  I would recommend spending more than part of one day to tour Yellowstone.

Just because we left Yellowstone did not mean the picture taking had to stop.

That last one was probably my favorite scenic picture from the trip.  It was near the end of day 2 of driving.
I am posting this on November 26, 2014.   I pray everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow.
